Niloofar Nobakht, MD, FASN (Councilor Five)

Dr. Nobakht is an Associate Clinical Professor of Nephrology at UCLA. She completed a kidney disease research fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver and the Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Southern California followed by Clinical Nephrology Fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

She is board certified and Faculty of the American Society of Nephrology. She has participated in a wealth of clinical research including hypertension, diabetes, polycystic kidney disease and kidney transplantation. She highly supports the mission of kidney health awareness in our society in both the research and clinic field. Her current research and practice are focused on Hypertension, Diabetes, Polycystic Kidney Diseases and Women's health in patients with kidney disease and hypertension.

She is the founder of the Music and Kidney program and was awarded as wellness champion. She highly supports the role of lifestyle and wellness on human health.
