Mira T. Keddis, MD (Councilor Three)

Dr Mira Keddis is a Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona in the Division of Nephrology and Department of Medicine. She received her MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She completed her internal medicine residency, chief year, and a three-year nephrology fellowship program at Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota. Her clinical expertise is in kidney stones. She specializes in the care of kidney transplant candidates, recipients, and kidney donor candidates with kidney stones and the evaluation and management of patients with enteric hyperoxaluria and oxalate nephropathy. She co-directs the cross-disciplinary Stone Clinic at Mayo Clinic Arizona. She is a well-respected and recognized educator and has mentored numerous trainees across the continuum of the health care professional team. She is the Nephrology Course Director for the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine (MCASOM) in Arizona and serves as the Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs for the school. She is the Education Director for the Center for Individualized Medicine at Mayo Clinic at large and leads a team of educational specialists in curation and dissemination of individualized medicine education. Dr. Keddis was also the recipient of the ASN Innovation in Education Award for her work on developing learning modules on genomics of kidney disease. She is one of the course directors for the Empowering Medical Educator Conference, which is a continuous professional development course, held annually to support faculty development. She has served as WIN Councilor since 2022 leading the Awards Committee, the Hsiao Fellowship Award, and supporting the mentor-mentee initiative.
