Dana Negoi, MD (Councilor One)

Dr. Negoi is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Vermont.

Dr. Negoi received her medical degree in her native Romania, from Carol Davila University of Medicine in Bucharest. Soon after graduating from medical school she embarked on a journey of further learning and personal development when she moved to the USA. She did an Internal Medicine Residency in Danbury, CT a program affiliated with Yale University. She continued with a Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Missouri, Columbia where she joined the faculty after graduation. Here she worked with pioneers in the area of peritoneal dialysis and over the years she refined her skills in home dialysis. She was in the planning committee of the Annual Dialysis Conference for many years. She also participated as a speaker for the Annual Dialysis Conference. She co-authored book chapters, articles and abstracts dealing with home dialysis. In 2010 she joined the University of Vermont Medical Center. She is the Medical Director of the Home Dialysis Program at the UVMMC. Her focus has been to reorganize and grow the Home Dialysis Program, improve home dialysis teaching in the nephrology fellowship program, improve patient's chronic kidney disease education, and patient-centered care.
